Struggling to cope with life?

I get it. Life can be full of ups and downs that can be difficult to talk about with those closest to you.

I understand that you may be nervous about talking to someone about what is going on for you. Especially if it is something that might be very personal, intimate even. You might feel like you can’t talk to anyone about this – you can talk to me.

Are you struggling with

  • Overthinking, not being able to sleep, flashbacks, or trust issues?
  • Are your emotions all over the place?
  • Have you been a victim of a crime or abuse and feel powerless.
  • You might feel life will never be the same again.
  • Are relationships a struggle.
  • Perhaps you feel trapped and alone.

If you are experiencing any of these feelings, it is a good time to seek help. I’m here to support you to work through them.

 About Me

I have had a very varied life; with lots of ups and downs along the way.

Fractured family relationships that were exhausting and often very painful to navigate. Workplace stress, pressure and bullying that led to a long drawn out journey through the legal system. Personal relationships that with benefit of hindsight were not at all healthy.

When I first sought counselling I was at a particularly low point and I  was sceptical at first as to how sitting talking to a stranger would benefit me.

I can honestly say it is the best thing I ever did for myself!

My professional journey

After many years working in a corporate role I eventually moved to working in education, and it was during this time I decided to retrain as a counsellor.

I  worked for Lancashire Women, an amazing charity providing support for women, and spent some time with Citizens Advice Witness Service supporting vulnerable & intimidated witnesses giving evidence in both magistrate’s courts and crown courts.

I currently work with Trust House Lancashire a charity providing support for people who have experienced sexual violence. As part of my private practise work providing online and telephone counselling.

Am I the right counsellor for you?

The most important part of therapy is the relationship that the client and counsellor have.

You need to feel that you can trust and be comfortable with me in order for you to openly and honestly share your innermost thoughts and feelings with me.

So I invite you for a 30 minute free consultation to discuss how I work and to get to know me.

We can explore what brings you to seek counselling and what you hope to gain from your counselling sessions.

You can then decide whether you feel we are a good fit and if you would be comfortable with us working together.

Work With Me

I provide online video and telephone counselling sessions. So you can access support from the comfort of your own space.

As a person centred counsellor I firmly believe we are all our own experts at knowing what is best for us. We just sometimes need the space to figure that out.  I won’t give you answers or direction but I will work with you to explore the issues that you are experiencing in your life.

I will listen without judgement and be with you as you begin to reconnect with your feelings and needs which will enable you to gain clarity, find your answers and make decisions and choices that are best for you.
